Mayfair

I don't usually shop in Mayfair. But when I have lunch nearby, I do enjoy venturing around.

Growing up, I never liked wearing black. But after I discovered brands from the likes of Rick Owens, Ann Demeulemeester & Givenchy, it grew on me.

Black is not sad. Bright colors are what depresses me. They’re so… empty. Black is poetic. How do you imagine a poet? In a bright yellow jacket? Probably not
— Ann Demeulemeester

And for those of you who don't know me, my name is Jocelyn Yih. I've been blogging on tumblr and lookbook for around two years now. I've always wanted to start my own site but I never got around to it.

Kenzo's 'NO FISH NO NOTHING' campaign

The reason I started this blog is simple - I want a platform that allows me to share my taste in fashion. Not only does this blog allow me to share my outfits; I'll be able to do runway reviews, share my experiences and (hopefully) learn more about where designers obtain their inspiration from. I've heard of Kenzo's 'NO FISH NO NOTHING' collection months ago but, after doing some research, I realized that  it was actually a charity campaign to support the Blue Marine Foundation. Who knew?

Inside the Maison Martin Margiela store in Mayfair

Converse x Maison Martin Margiela on the window display

After hearing about the new collaboration between Converse and Maison Martin Margiela, I went to the MMM store next door. I was told by the shop manager that the shoes are designed specially so that the more they are worn, the more the overpaint becomes loose and cracks to reveal a hidden bold color (comes in amber, navy, blue & red).
